Which Button Is Select on Firestick Remote

All buttons, Android events, and behavior guidelines are the same for all remotes — with the exception of the voice search (microphone) button, that's is simply available on a few remotes.

Controllers Overview

The Amazon Fire TV platform assists user input from the Amazon Fire TV Remote, the Fire TV Voice Remote, the Fire game controller, as well as other game controllers that assist the Bluetooth HID game pad profile. All controllers should be paired with the device to be used.
In particular, easy input from any controller such as navigation or selection can be managed through key events in the same way you would handle input from a keyboard or a button pad.

Buttons

Most of the Amazon Fire TV remote controls have these buttons. Some Fire TV remotes don't include the microphone (voice search) button.
The remote controllers for Fire Stick Service Edition have some extra buttons — like volume up/down, power, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other apps.

Capturing Input

All Amazon Fire TV remote controls create Key Event events for button presses, as any Android input device does. You can handle controller button input with standard Android event listener interfaces and callbacks (on Click), focus change, and so on. Neither the Amazon Fire TV a Remote nor the Voice Remote lifts motion events (from the Android Motion Event class).
To capture particular button press events in your View, override input event handlers like on Key Down. Test for the input constants from the Key Event class to capture particular keys.

Fire Stick Buttons Not Working

The buttons generally don't work when the remote hasn’t properly paired with your Fire Stick support device. Hold down the Home button on the remote for a minimum of 10 seconds to pair it again.
If it still doesn't work, follow the steps to reset your remote and re-pair it with Fire Stick:
Note: The following steps don't reset your Fire Stick to factory settings.
  • Firstly, Disconnect your Fire Stick from the power source
  • Now press and hold down the following buttons (all of them together) for minimum 20 seconds:
  1. – Back button
  2. – Menu button
  3. – Left part of the navigation ring
  • Remove the batteries from the Fire Stick remote
  • Power on your Fire Stick and wait until you view the home screen on your TV
  • Insert the batteries rear into your Fire Stick remote
  • Wait for 1-2 minutes
  • Your Fire Stick remote should have already paired. If it hasn’t paired, hold down the Home button for at least 10 seconds.
Trojan malware is one of the scariest malware that if it arrives in your Fire Stick, then it may not only cause the issue “Fire Stick frozen“, but also you may get most other issues too.

  2. That may be the case, but this post does not answer the question: which button is the select button? I can't find this on the internet, and the buttons are not labeled.

    1. Never mind, it's the big button (though your explanation does not say that anywhere).

  3. Didn't know that there was even a button in the center of the circle. I was pressting around the button lol. So in the center of the circle is the confirm button for anybody who needs to know.
